About

The PAPREN Pressing Issues Interest Group offers a monthly forum for researchers, practitioners and others to convene around urgent concerns with implications for physical activity opportunity, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, structural racism and natural disasters. Participants check in about opportunities for quick projects – such as journal commentaries and analysis of easily available data – that leverage the network’s membership breadth.  On each call, advocates and professional societies provide updates on their work relevant to increasing physical activity opportunity. These groups include:

  • America Walks
  • Rails to Trails Conservancy
  • National Complete Streets Coalition
  • League of American Bicyclists
  • Safe Routes National Partnership
  • American Heart Association
  • Physical Activity Alliance
  • Active Transportation Alliance
  • American Planning Association
  • National Association of County and City Health Officials
