About

PAPREN has two “Hubs”, a Rural Hub and and Urban Hub. These inter-related groups focus on topics related to the built environment and community design, including transportation, land use, and parks, trails and green space. The Hubs are a space for people with broad interests to convene, discuss topics of interest and generate research ideas. Hub leaders will guide exploration of project ideas, and members can participate in projects that align with their interests and availability. Hub membership is open to all, and we anticipate extensive cross-collaboration across the Hubs.

Each Hub has a Hub lead and subject matter leads who collaborate in generating and supporting projects in and across their respective Hubs. M. Renée Umstattd Meyer, Rural Hub lead, was formerly a co-lead of the PAPREN Rural Active Living Work Group. Rural Hub subject leads Marilyn Wende and Jessica Stroope have long involvement with PAPREN.

Join the Rural Hub

PAPREN members have the option to sign up for one or both Hub distribution lists, which are separate from the main network distribution list. All PAPREN members who were previously on the Rural Active Living Work Group email list have been added to the new Rural Hub email list. If you were not part of the Rural Active Living Work Group during the previous grant cycle (2019-2024), or you are not sure, enter your contact information here to be added to the Rural Hub email list.

Implementation in Action speaker series

The Hubs alternate sponsorship of the Implementation in Action speaker series. These practice-focused webinars are scheduled for months without a PAPREN State of the Science event. Dates and times will be posted shortly and promoted via the PAPREN Post.
