PAPREN Grand Rounds August 2021: Sara Zimmerman, Climate Equity Policy Center

Sara Zimmerman is the founder and director of the Climate Equity Policy Center, working with communities to develop policy solutions that center climate and equity.  Sara is a lawyer and policy expert with more than 20 years of experience with nonprofit, organizing, and racial justice initiatives. Previously, Sara worked as national program and policy director for the Safe Routes Partnership and prior to that as a senior staff attorney and program director for ChangeLab Solutions, a national legal and policy nonprofit focused on healthy communities.  Sara clerked for Judge Richard Paez of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and graduated from Swarthmore College (Phi Beta Kappa) and UC Berkeley School of Law (Order of the Coif).  In addition to her work with the Climate Equity Policy Center, Sara is also cofounder and senior advisor at Just Strategies, a consulting firm focused on equity and community leadership, and is on the national leadership team for Solidarity Sundays, a network that supports local political engagement and organizing across the country.
