Fellows serve as integral members of the PAPREN family. Each of the six PAPREN Work Groups support a Fellow. We described this model in a previous blog post. In addition, we’re launching a new Fellow position to help us expand our communications footprint.
Upcoming Work Group Fellow openings
Two PAPREN Work Groups are each recruiting a Fellow to start October 1. For more information about qualifications and duties, see the Call for Fellows.
- The School Wellness Work Group is a joint effort between PAPREN and our CDC-funded sister network, the Nutrition Obesity Policy Evaluation Network (NOPREN). With over 250 members, it provides a vibrant collaborative space. PAPREN and NOPREN each sponsor one Fellow, who collaborate to support Work Group chairs and operations. The PAPREN Fellow also leads a physical activity-related project. For more information or to apply, contact co-chair Erin Hager, PhD.
- The Transportation Policy and Planning Work Group seeks a Fellow to start October 1. Launched one year ago, this Work Group has quickly grown to 125 members including practitioners and researchers from a wide range of sectors and organizations ranging from consulting firms to academia to state and local governments. The first Fellow (an engineering PhD candidate) is co-leading a project with one of the co-chairs examining active transportation provisions in COVID-related orders at the state and local levels. We strongly encourage applicants from transportation and related fields as we seek to grow collaboration across sectors and between researchers and practitioners. For more information or to apply, contact co-chair Karin Valentine Goins.
